Purpose
The Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) Cardiovascular Health Mission aims to make transformative improvements in cardiovascular health and stroke management for all Australians.
Overview
The objective of this grant opportunity is to provide grants of financial assistance to support medical research and medical innovation projects that:
- Stream 1 (Priority Area 1.2; Targeted Call for Research): reduce the number of Australians experiencing cardiovascular disease and stroke by developing and implementing early, more effective preventive health interventions, by co-designing and developing strategies with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people to embed best-practice, culturally secure cardiovascular disease and stroke prevention for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people into care.
- Stream 2 (Priority Area 2.2; Targeted Call for Research): conduct Phase 1 and Phase 2 clinical trials to demonstrate safety and potential efficacy of novel devices and therapeutic approaches for cardiovascular disease and stroke.
- Stream 3 (Priority Area 3.2; Targeted Call for Research): conduct a large-scale multiomics project focused on improving understanding of recovery trajectories and phenotypes, underpinning recovery and survivorship in cardiovascular disease and stroke.
- Stream 4 (Priority Area 1.2; Targeted Call for Research): reduce the number of Australians experiencing cardiovascular disease and stroke by developing and implementing early, more effective preventive health interventions.

Applications will only be accepted from approved MRFF Eligible Organisations. A list of approved MRFF Eligible Organisations is available on the NHMRC website.
Applications must satisfy all the requirements set out in the Medical Research Future Fund - Cardiovascular Health Mission - 2025 Cardiovascular Health Grant Opportunity Guidelines.
