Purpose
Glen Eira City Council offers several citizen and community group awards, which recognise the contributions of Glen Eira residents and groups to the local community.
Overview
As a Citizen of the Year or Young Citizen of the Year recipient, you must have:
- made a significant contribution to the Glen Eira community throughout the year and/or over the previous years
- outstanding leadership skills and/or be a role model for other community members.
You must have also excelled in one or more of the following areas:
- aged services
- charity/humanitarian
- education
- public health
- arts/culture
- community services
- environment
- sports /recreation.
Limitations
Who is eligible?
Citizen of the Year
To be eligible for a Citizen of the Year nomination, you must be a resident of Glen Eira.
Young Citizen of the Year
To be eligible for a Young Citizen of the Year nomination, you must be a resident of Glen Eira and be 25 years or younger on 31 December 2023.
