Lotterywest support local and community initiatives. Lotterywest also work with communities and sectors that are developing solutions to help achieve a deeper, wider impact, or that will leave a lasting and significant community legacy.

Lotterywest have developed a Community Investment Framework to support their vision of ‘Building a better WA together’ and to strengthen the impact achieved with the grants supported by Lotterywest and Healthway.

The Community Investment Framework priority areas are:

• Active Healthy People: Assisting the community to be more active and support initiatives which promote healthy lives
• Protected Sustainable Ecosystems: Supporting the community to sustain and enhance our unique species and environments
• Inclusive Thriving Community: Supporting the diversity of Western Australians to actively engage in community life
• Connected Cultural Experiences: Bringing people together through the arts, heritage and cultural activities
• Smart Innovative Society: Optimising the community’s talent and capability

Lotterwest's grant programs are:

1. Grassroots and community initiatives: to help build stronger and healthier communities by supporting local activities and regional community initiatives
2. Developing solutions: to assist the development of solutions that will have a greater community impact. Note: There are no applications for this grant program at this stage - the LotteryWest team will work directly with organisations to invite applications aligned to their focus areas.
   

Funding

Applications from $3,000 upwards are accepted. Please don't under or overestimate your request. Request the amount that will support your initiative, has a strong case to support it, meets relevant assessment considerations and demonstrates value for money.

The limit for unincorporated groups and organisations not GST registered is a combined total of up to $15,000 for each financial year.

Timing

It will generally take four months to assess your request and make a recommendation to the Lotterywest Board for consideration.

Eligibility

You are an eligible organisation if you’re:

• a not-for-profit organisation (i.e. none of the profits go to owners or shareholders); or
• a local government authority.

Smaller not-for-profits may prefer to be auspiced by an eligible organisation. Contact us for more information if you are considering this approach.

Your organisation also needs to:

• be an Australian entity and operating within Western Australia;
• not be operating on behalf of the State or Federal Government;
• have the authority to undertake the proposed grant activities; or
• have an organisational structure that does not allow for the distribution of profit or personal gain during operation and/or in the event of wind up.
