Purpose

The City of South Perth recognises the importance of community development, and as such provides support to sporting clubs, community groups and other organisations through the Community Funding Program.

Overview

The maximum amount that may be requested is $5,000. Funding is available year-round (unless funding pool is exhausted in that financial year) and applications may be submitted at any time.

The types of projects that funding can be requested for are detailed below.

  • Community connections e.g. Awareness-raising celebrations such as NAIDOC, Seniors Week etc. Support groups or social actions Intergenerational or multicultural projects 
  • Community arts and cultural development e.g. Drama or music (workshops or performances) Crafts, textiles, fashion Photography or writing projects 
  • Community wellbeing e.g. Personal development or educational workshops Environmental sustainability Physical activity 
  • Minor capital projects and equipment e.g. Office equipment, building enhancements, laptops etc. 
  • COVID-19 Community Support Programs e.g. food relief, positive mental health projects

Limitations

The Community Development Grant is open to sporting clubs, community groups and other organisations for minor non-recurrent projects that provide benefit to the City of South Perth community, and align with the City’s Strategic Plan 2017 - 2027.
