Purpose
The Community Bank Barwon Heads is committed to supporting our region and providing financial support to our varied community groups. Our business is based on a community model that is different to the ‘big banks’ – our model is set up to direct profits from its customers banking business directly back to the local community that supports it.
Overview
Sponsorship applications are assessed on a case by case basis and are considered favourably where they provide valuable community benefit in the following priority areas:
- Sustainability and the environment
- E.g Food security, water security, carbon footprint reduction, sustainable land use
- Vibrant and Dynamic Community
- E.g Initiatives that promote participation and inclusion in sport, recreation, arts and culture
- Facilities, Services and Support
- E.g Health, aged care support, child care
- Community Capacity Building
- Initiatives that support community resilience
- People and Social Impacts
- Initiatives that support diversity and equality, and hard to reach community members
- Healthy Connected Communities
- Acknowledging best practice policy around health and wellbeing.
Limitations
Conditions of funding:
- All applicants must be customers of Community Bank Barwon Heads
- Applicants must complete a Project Evaluation following their grant period
- Applicants agree to speak about their project at the annual AGM.
- Applicants must consent to have their applications discussed in a strictly confidential manner by the board.
- Aplicants must gain appropriate permissions for using children in photographs prior to their events.
- Funding is not guaranteed and the Board’s decision is final.
We will not support applications that:
- Support political or religious organisations
- Promote drugs, alcohol or tobacco
- Denigrate, exclude or offend minority groups
- Encourage violence
- Create environmental hazards
- Present a danger to the community
- Take place outside of Australia
