To support community members at risk of temperature extremes to invest in household energy efficiency upgrades that will improve household comfort and health outcomes as well as reduce energy bills and greenhouse gas emissions.

Eligible applicants (residents) may seek up to 50% of the costs of upgrade or $1,000, whichever is the lesser.

*  Limited funds are available for this program. To be of most benefit both in terms of emissions reduction and improved health outcomes, the program is restricted to homes that are occupied full time.

Eligibility

• Only available for properties located in the Mornington Peninsula Shire.
• Must either be an owner-occupier, a landlord with eligible tenant/s, a property manager on behalf of a landlord with eligible tenant/s.
• The home must be the primary residence of the occupant.
• The resident must hold one of the following current cards: Department of Veteran Affairs Gold Cards, Health Care Card, Low Income Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card, Commonwealth Seniors Health Card or receive payments through: Carer Allowance or Family Tax Benefit.
• Only one application per household is permitted.
• The products installed through the grant must be installed by appropriately licensed and accredited installers, and maintained in accordance with any relevant guidelines, and in a manner which does not pose risks to the health or welfare of any person.
• Grant funding will be applied to the out-of-pocket installation or service cost incurred by the owner or landlord, after all other incentives, grants, rebates, and discounts received have been deducted.
• The applicant acknowledges and agrees that the Mornington Peninsula Shire accepts no liability in respect of any claim, cause of actions, loss or damage arising out of, or in relation to, any device purchased, or service procured under the incentives.
• The Mornington Peninsula Shire may request provision of information associated with the project including data for the preparation of a case study.
