Purpose
Northern and Yorke Landscape Board Grants program provides funding to community groups and not-for-profit organisations to enable them to undertake projects that deliver positive environmental outcomes across the Northern & Yorke Region.
Overview
Funding of between $200 and $2,000 is available for community groups and not-for-profit organisations for small, short-term projects. The program is funded through the Northern and Yorke Landscape Board to deliver positive environmental and landscape management outcomes, such as weed control, revegetation projects and pest animal management.
When are Bite-sized Grants available?
Bite-sized Grants are available from approximately September through until May, with applications assessed and grants allocated monthly. The program is designed to give groups an opportunity to apply for small amounts of funding when it is needed throughout spring, summer and autumn.
There is a fixed amount of funding allocated in support of this program each financial year. A group may only receive funding once per financial year, however a group may reapply if their application was unsuccessful.
What can be funded?
A diverse range of activities can be funded which contribute to increasing awareness and positive action by communities in landscape management. This may include purchasing tools, equipment or consumables, hiring contractors, design or printing costs, presenter fees, purchasing native plants, and purchasing safety gear etc.
All activities funded by a Bite-sized Grant must align with the priorities of the Landscape Board which includes, pest plant and animal control, water management and water course health, protecting or conserving biodiversity, First Nations engagement and support, and sustainable agriculture practices.
