Overview

Grants of up to $20,000 per project designed to support the development and enhancement of community infrastructure across the region.

  • Building new infrastructure in response to identified community needs
  • Upgrading or improving existing facilities
  • Enhancing accessibility to encourage broader use and promote inclusion

Limitations

To be eligible for Community Infrastructure Grant funding, applicants must:

  • Be a not-for-profit organisation based (or primarily operating) within the Council area; and
  • Be an incorporated body, or auspiced by one; and
  • Provide an ABN (Australian Business Number) or complete a declaration (if the group or organisation does not have an ABN);
  • Offer matching funding (1:1) equal to or greater than the amount requested from Council, unless extenuating factors exist. Matching funding can include ‘in-kind’ contributions, volunteer labour and services appropriately calculated (e.g. using the Cost of Volunteering Calculator at https://www.volunteering.com.au/resourcestools/cost-of-volunteering-calculator/ ); and
  • Confirm that the project, program or activity will be undertaken within the Council area and fits into one or more of the following categories:
    • Health and wellbeing;
    • Access and inclusion;
    • Community participation (including safety and risk reduction);
    • Environmental Sustainability.

At its discretion, the Council may choose to consider applications that contribute less than 1:1 matching funding under extenuating circumstances, noting that these applications will typically be evaluated/scored lower in the relevant assessment criteria.
