Purpose
AgriFutures Australia has been selected as an Official Nominator for the 2025 Earthshot Prize. Winners of the Earthshot Prize receive £1 million each to scale their solutions; it is a platform dedicated to finding and growing solutions that will repair the planet this decade.
Overview
AgriFutures Australia is an Official Nominator who have been invited to submit nominations for the prize due to their connection and understanding of the agrifood tech and innovation ecosystem. AgriFutures Australia will nominate individuals, communities, businesses and organisations whose solutions make the most progress towards achieving the five Earthshots; they are Protect and Restore Nature; Clean our Air; Revive our Oceans; Build a Waste-Free World; and Fix our Climate.
Nominees should be beyond the idea stage, have tested their solution in-field or with target audiences, and are at a ‘tipping point’ for scaling their impact within the next five years.
Limitations
AgriFutures Australia accept solutions from any country or sector in the world. Past finalists included grassroots not-for-profits, tech start-ups, global data monitoring systems, cities and countries. Diversity makes a Finalist cohort stronger and will be a consideration throughout our selection process. AgriFutures Australia place a particular emphasis on geographic representation, gender and indigenous representation and actively
source innovations from these communities.
Nominees could be:
An organisation (not-for-profit or for-profit)
Government institution, local or national
(including a country or city)
A partnership of more than one organisation
A team or small group of individuals
