Purpose
The Australian Government's Disaster Ready Fund provides up to $200 million per year to fund projects that build resilience to natural hazards.
Overview
Eligible projects may include:
- investment in grey and green-blue, social and natural hazard monitoring infrastructure;
- development of business cases and/or feasibility studies for future infrastructure (including investigation, modelling, concept and detailed design activities); or
- risk reduction activities to improve the quality and impact of the response to future disasters.
Applicants need to make a co-contribution. This can include in-kind contributions such as wages, supplies, materials, or specific equipment if these can be directly attributed to the project. Co-contribution requirements are set out in the DRF Round Three Guidelines.
Limitations
To be eligible for DRF funding Applicants must:
- have an Australian Business Number (ABN), or
- be a First Nations organisation or not-for-profit organisation, and
- be an entity with the capacity to enter into a legally binding agreement.
