Purpose
Hobsons Bay Community Fund (HBCF) is a perpetual philanthropic fund established to benefit and strengthen the community of Hobsons Bay for present and future generations. Community Support Grants aim to promote a fair, inclusive and vibrant community and promote social inclusion with fair and equitable access to community participation.
Overview
Grant applications of between $500 and $10,000 will be considered with needs aligning with but not limited to one or more of the categories below.
- Access to food and housing security
- Equal opportunities for youth in education & employment
- Emergency aid
- Culturally & Linguistically Diverse (CALD) groups
- Refugees and Asylum Seekers
- Those with a physical or intellectual disability
- Socially marginalised cohorts
- Physical/mental health and wellbeing
- Positive ageing
- A sustainable environment
- Arts and culture-base
A total pool of approximately $60,000 will be made available for the 2025 HBCF Community Support Grants, with grants available from $500 up to $10,000. All applications over $5,000 should first be discussed with a member of the HBCF Grants subcommittee.
Limitations
Who can apply?
- Any non-profit, club, group, organisation, community centre, neighbourhood house school and other organisations or groups delivering services or programs within Hobsons Bay.
- Any community group or organisation that is Incorporated (registered under the Incorporations Act) or has the application supported under an Auspice arrangement.
- Accepting grant applications from for-profit organisations are not generally within our guidelines, but if a for-profit body is seeking to deliver a charitable project or program, for example in partnership with a not-for-profit or community group, please contact the HBCF Grants Sub-Committee here to discuss the project before applying.
- Community initiatives require the majority of participants to come from Hobsons Bay.
- Sporting Clubs – applications from sporting clubs will only be considered if the sporting activity is done as an integral part of, or is incidental to, a charitable purpose.
