Purpose
The purpose of the Arts Development Fund is to support the Gold Coast’s creative community by fostering professional pathways, skills development outcomes and to provide community benefit that contributes to the city’s vibrant lifestyle.
Overview
This grant is a rolling fund with applications accepted at any time throughout the year (or until funds are fully expended). Funding supports projects from individuals, organisations and collectives needing smaller levels of funding for arts and culture-based activity.
The intention of this grant is to encourage creative risk taking and experimentation. Application outcomes will be determined within 8 weeks of receipt.
Funding up to $5,000 available.

Eligibility:
Who can apply?
- Individuals /collectives who are Gold Coast residents, organisations based on the Gold Coast OR those seeking funding for projects that demonstrate significant outcomes on the Gold Coast and/or benefits for the Gold Coast community. Applicants who are not residents on the Gold Coast must provide evidence of local community benefit in the application and outline significant outcomes to the Gold Coast
- Professional Development grant stream applicants must be Gold Coast residents
- applicants must have an Australian Business Number (ABN) in the name of the applicant
- individual applicants/collectives must be Australian citizens or permanent residents
- applicants must be, or engage, practicing artists or arts professionals
Who can't apply?
- applicants that received an Arts Development Fund grant / or equivalent Council grant in the previous round (applicants cannot receive consecutive year funding) - Arts Projects streams only
- Council entities and strategic partner organisations — however, these entities can partner on projects
- applicants that have not completed and acquitted any previous Council funded projects
- applicants who are current employees of City of Gold Coast Council
- individual applicants who are current employees of Experience Gold Coast unless their application includes a letter from their employer (CEO/Senior Management/Chair) stating that their project is not associated with the duties of their role and/or programming of the organisation
- Government and semi-government entities, including private and public educational institutions
- political participants and advocates
