Purpose
The Community Road Safety Grants (CRSG) provide an opportunity for community organisations to support local road safety initiatives that drive a change in behaviours and attitudes to road safety in local communities.
Overview
To support Queensland communities with the development and delivery of effective road safety education initiatives that support people to be safer road users.
Funding is available up to $40,000. Initiatives must be delivered within 12 months of when funding is awarded.
Two funding rounds are available throughout the year. The application submission period for each funding round is open for 6 months.
Funding rounds open in April and October. The next funding rounds will close at 5pm on 31 March 2025 and 30 September 2025.

Specific road user groups
- Young drivers
- Children, particularly those aged 0 to 5 years and 12 to 15 years old
- Pedestrians
- Bicycle riders
- Motorcyclists
- Older road users (65+)
Limitations
Eligible organisations
For your organisation to be eligible for a Community Road Safety Grant, the organisation must be one of the following:
- Incorporated or registered under an Act of Parliament with not-for-profit objectives; or
- Government entity; or
- Parents and Citizens and Parents and Friends association in partnership with schools.
Eligible organisations must also:
- have an active ABN
- have a bank account in the name of the organisation
- have the appropriate financial governance in place to deliver the grant
- have policies in place to prevent and intervene in bullying and cyberbullying among children and young people (if applicable)
- be registered with the online grants portal
Ineligible organisations
- Organisations trading for profit
- Individuals
- Proprietary limited or public companies limited by shares where the shareholders are individuals or for-profit companies.
The following items are ineligible:
- items or services purchased prior to notification of the outcome of the application
- salaries and wages of existing staff
- cash prizes
- furniture
- IT software and systems
- general maintenance of property
- facility improvements (for example bicycle training paths, sheds, fences)
- general operating or recurring costs
- vehicle purchase / lease / registration
- grant writer fees
- contingency costs
- social events / alcohol
- feasibility study / research costs / conference attendance costs
- costs associated with fundraising or organisation promotion that does not directly link to road safety education content.
- delivery of the BRAKE or RYDA program (these programs are funded for schools under our program funding, contact the program providers directly for enrolment.)
