Purpose
The RM Gibson Program of the AAG Research Trust supports early career researchers and practitioners working across the multidisciplinary field of ageing.
Overview
The program was set up to honour the memory of Dr Richard (Dick) Maxwell Gibson, who played a foundation role in the development of gerontology within Australia and beyond.
In 2025, the RM Gibson Program is offering:
- Up to three grants of up to $10,000 (inc GST) each; and
- A possible additional grant of up to $10,000 (inc GST), for applications with a substantive dementia focus, made possible through a partnership between the AAG Research Trust and the Dementia Australia Research Foundation (DARF).
RMG grants are designed to:
- facilitate early career learning and growth by providing seed funding for a standalone project or a discrete piece of work within an existing project; and
- help build your grant track record.
Limitations
To apply for an RMG grant, applicants:
- Must be AAG members when they apply for a grant and for the full duration of the funded project;
- Must fit the definition of an early career researcher or practitioner as defined above.
- May lead only one grant application per funding round but may be a co-investigator on other applications to any AAG Research Trust grant program.
- May be the lead investigator on only one current AAG Research Trust grant of any kind at one time
