Purpose

The scholarship aims to help recipients to meet the educational requirements for CPA status, and demonstrate their commitment to learning to potential employers.

Overview

CPA Australia offers up to five (5) scholarships annually for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The scholarship will assist recipients with financial support to assist them in meeting the educational requirements needed to attain CPA status. Scholarship recipients will receive complimentary enrolment for CPA Program subjects not yet undertaken, and one waived CPA Australia Associate (ASA) membership fee for three (3) consecutive years of membership.

Applications Close:  Once allocation is exhausted for the year.

Limitations

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:

  • be aged 18 years or over;
  • be assessed or have been assessed as eligible to join CPA Australia at Associate level. To be eligible to join as Associate member, you must have completed a CPA Australia-Accredited Course* or be assessed as meeting all of the Foundation competency requirements (including those meeting requirements all Foundation requirements through the Experience-Based Pathway); and
  • be an Australian resident for tax purposes and residing in Australia for the duration of the scholarship.

To complete the CPA Program and gain full membership status, applicants must hold as a minimum, an Australian bachelors degree or equivalent that is accredited by CPA Australia, or an overseas bachelors degree that CPA Australia has assessed as being comparable to an Australian bachelors degree. Applicants may need to complete additional accredited units to meet Associate membership requirements. Applicants can apply to join CPA Australia as an Associate member before satisfying the degree requirements for full membership.
