Purpose

Successful businesses will take part in a 10-week sprint including five core 1-hour workshops and weekly meetings with the NRL subject matter experts to help to pivot and tailor their innovative products to the NRL's needs.

Overview

The NRL Magic Round Tech Sprint program will fund up to eight Queensland-based businesses $25,000 each and facilitate collaboration with NRL subject matter experts to refine and adapt their technologies to meet the needs of the NRL and its clubs.

For Queensland-based businesses with ideas and groundbreaking technology across sport, major events, broadcasting and entertainment to partner with the NRL to refine your technology and address real-world industry challenges, aligned with the NRL's priority innovation areas:

  1. Strengthen the appeal and engagement for new audiences
  2. Better engage Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) fans
  3. Enhance the in-stadium experience
  4. Better enable volunteers and administrators to improve the participation experience
  5. Boost the accessibility and appeal of stats to drive user engagement
  6. Elevate the quality of the fan experience for those watching at home
  7. Advance performance excellence and promote long-term career health for NRL/NRLW athletes.

Limitations

Queensland-based businesses with an existing technology that is at or beyond minimum viable product stage.

Businesses within and outside of sport technology are encouraged to apply to pivot and tailor solutions to sport and major events.
